The vision: create a light-filled, open-plan sanctuary for their young family, blending comfort, flexibility, and wellness. Key aspirations included a seamless connection to the lush garden, a dedicated guest suite/home office, and an energy-efficient, future-proofed residence—all while honouring the home’s historic character.

ARCHITECTURE
ARTES London’s architectural approach harmonizes tradition and innovation. The expanded rear and side extensions amplify spatial quality, introducing an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area—perfect for modern family life. The new roof, featuring dual skylights, bathes interiors in natural light and warmth, supporting energy-efficient homes and reducing winter heating needs.
The design respects the existing Tudor-inspired façade, with sensitive updates to fenestration and materials, ensuring the home remains a proud part of the Surbiton streetscape. Solar analysis and 3D modelling guarantee no adverse impact on neighbours’ light or privacy.

INTERIOR + FIT-OUT DESIGN
Every detail, from the reimagined guest suite to the cycle-friendly storage, prioritizes wellness, comfort, and flexibility. Inside, the transformation is both luxe and thoughtful. Bespoke double-glazed sliding doors frame biophilic interiors, blurring boundaries between inside and out. Premium UPVC windows in anthracite wood grain effect, natural timber accents, and a garden deck create a refined yet inviting palette.

SUSTAINABILITY + ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
Sustainability is the heartbeat of this project. ARTES London integrates high-performance insulation, advanced double glazing, and low-impact materials to deliver a truly energy-efficient home. The design minimizes embodied carbon, while the green roof (Surbiton) and garden deck foster biodiversity and stormwater management. Internal wall insulation upgrades promote thermal comfort without altering the historic exterior.
